Driving me Crazy - IX

Over the last couple of months, due to TMBWitW recovering from a C-section, and my lack of employment, I've been doing most of the driving - doctor's appointments, visiting, church, shopping, you name it - and it has come to our attention that our car must have a big sign on it.

"SPEED PAST US AND CUT IN FRONT OF OUR BUMPER"

At least, we're pretty sure that's what it says, since a lot of the drivers around here seem to do that.

We were driving to the East Valley the other day (TMBWitW was going to visit her friend, Arizona Mills Mall, and I had an interview) and we were traveling along in the carpool lane. A pick-up truck, driver on the phone, missed our front bumper by about five inches. It would have been less, and probably an impact, if I hadn't tapped my brakes when I saw him lurch towards us from the right. No turn signal, no glance in the mirror, not even a hiccup in his conversation, I'm guessing.

Oh, and Sonoran State plates on his truck.

Now, I'm sure that he was here on business, and he was leaving the area as soon as his business was complete. I'm sure that he doesn't live here and leave his truck registered in a foreign nation because he's only here for the cash. I'm sure that if he had moved here he would be registering his vehicle here within the ten days allowed by law.

I'm sure of that because my government assures me that most people coming from south of the border are here to stay, and will assimilate into our law-abiding community.

No, really, they will.

Except that I ran into him again. Yes, I'm pretty sure it's the same truck - same model, same Sonoran plate, same flame job on the hood. He was getting out of his truck at Home Depot. I was there picking up trim pieces for the pulpit, and I saw him as I was leaving. It was pretty obvious that he was headed into Home Depot, besides being parked there - he had on an orange apron with the words "Home Depot" on it.

Yup, they're here doing the jobs that us Americans won't. I always thought the libs were referring to agricultural jobs. Turns out Americans don't want to work in home improvement warehouses. Or in fast food places. Or at the corner drugstore. Or the movie rental stores. Or on construction crews.

And now Ted "I can't go for help while my date is drowning" Kennedy is starting the whole amnesty debate again by introducing a more radical "path to citizenship" bull - I mean bill - with the hopes that a DemocratICK controlled Congress will pass it without a burp.

Multiple Tears of Pride

If you go over to Seaspook's blog, and read this, perhaps some of the liberal and left leaning morons and idiots that troll here will start to get some sense of what we, the conservative veterans, are feeling about Murderin' Murtha and his gang of wannabes on the Hill.

Tony Snow Thinks Bloggers are "Hateful"

Texas Fred has an interesting story on his outpost of truth today...

You can check it out here.

Tell Fred that I sent you over.

This will be a nice opportunity to segue into another campaign post, won't it?

I do not like Political Correctness. I do not like it, Sam I Am. PC has brought us such terms as "Visually Challenged" - heck, I'm visually challenged - without my glasses or contacts, I can't see more than eight inches in front of my face. People who cannot see at all are - say it with me - blind.

Assigning a label to a condition is another way of discriminating against someone, while pretending to be nice about it. Calling someone "Developmentally Disabled" doesn't change the fact that they have trouble doing everyday things, like tying their own shoes, combing their hair, or brushing their teeth. All it does is allow someone to ask for more money to "help" them.

I need a press secretary who would have sat in that meeting and said "Boys, like it or not, the bloggers are presenting the facts without pretense of a liberal or conservative slant. The right leaners will present their version, and the left leaners will present their version. America, as a whole, will read what is out there and come to an educated opinion. If the mainstream media cannot or will not either present the whole story without a bias, or at the very least admit their bias, the American Public is going to tell you to take a walk. Get your collective acts together."

We, the People, need leadership in the Capitol who will hold people responsible for their actions. We also need leadership who will, in turn, be responsible for their own actions.

Please, help me out here. Get my name out there as a write-in candidate for President of the United States. No, I don't stand a chance to get elected. But, if enough people are creating enough buzz about a "common Joe" that wants to show the Career Politicians that they need to shape up, then maybe, just maybe, they'll get the message. If enough Career Politicians are not re-elected, no matter what party they represent (because let's face it, they certainly don't represent the American People any more, do they?) then the message will start getting out there that We the People are serious about taking our country back from the players and running it like it should be.

Good Question! part 1

Cube, down Florida way, dropped a comment over here, and mentioned that maybe another Carter in the White House would not be a good idea.

She did mention that I have another "T" in my name, and I'm not sure of the connection to the other Carter family line (personally, I always told my classmates that I wasn't related...).

The problem actually goes beyond that. Conservative voters may not like the fact that (a) my last name reminds them of a certain peanut farmer that should have stayed in Georgia and (2) my first name sounds like I spent Christmas in the wrong country.

Wait - this could work out. Maybe the liberals will think "Hey, the best of both worlds!" in their mis-guided way.

I assure you, I will bring accountability back to it's original meaning. I will bring Common Sense back to leadership. I will elevate "representative" back to the lofty goal of -gasp!- REPRESENTING the people who elected you, instead of representing the interest of the Career Politician's wallet.

Criminals will be held responsible for their actions.

Employers will be held responsible for their actions.

Politicians will be held responsible for their actions.

Veterans will be held in the highest esteem, and get the funding they need. Oh, and be held responsible for their actions.

I can't do it without your help.

I Need Your Help

Yes, you - the one reading this over your morning coffee - and you, the one who just surfed in on BlogMad, or BlogSoldiers, or BlogExplosion - I need your help!

As you may know, I am running a write-in campaign to be elected President of the United States in 2008. My budget is $0.00. This is strictly word-of-mouth.

How can you help? E-mail me (carycartter AT gmail DOT com, or use the link at the top of the sidebar) and I will send you two pieces of code - one, for the flag-waving banner (Big thank you to Minuteman for designing that!) that looks really cool in your sidebar. Two, for the Technorati tag that is at the end of this post.

What I need you to do: First, insert the sidebar code in your sidebar.

Second, tag every post from now until the General Election in November, 2008 with the Technorati tag code.

Third, let me know you are doing it. I will add you to my list of supporters.

This is, after all, a word of mouth campaign; if you get questions about where I stand on a certain issue, please direct them to this blog. If I haven't posted an entry about a particular question, I will answer it the best I can.

Recent events (the "non-binding" resolution, democratICK antics, and the border patrol prosecutions) have really gotten me fired up. Either this country is sovereign, or it bows and scrapes to the socialist and socially engineering whims of other countries and even people within the country.

And the latest update from Grassfire:

In what can only be described as the next big bombshell to land in the case against Border Agent's "Nacho" Ramos and Jose Compean, WorldNet Daily is reporting that the Mexican Government was the motivating force behind our government’s prosecution of these men!

I have just concluded an exclusive, interview with WND's Jerome Corsi, who broke this story about the Mexican Government demanding the U.S. prosecute agents Ramos and Compean. I am asking every member of our team to listen to this riveting interview by clicking here.

Just days ago, we initiated a massive fax campaign targeting the key players in this outrageous case, including President Bush, U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton, the Department of Justice, Homeland Security and key Senators and Congressmen.

This latest admission that the Mexican Government is dictating U.S. border policy is simply too outrageous to ignore, and I'm asking EVERY member of our team who hasn't yet scheduled their faxes to do so right now by clicking here.

If you'd prefer not to use our Faxfire service and would rather send the faxes on your own, please feel free to use our letters. The fax list and letters can easily be
downloaded simply by visiting the Faxfire page.

Great. Just what we need - another country to tell us how to run our SOVEREIGN AND FREESTANDING COUNTRY. Not.

Simple Solution

This article in the Arizona Republic highlights the issues faced by a certain group of laborers in the Phoenix area.

This Certain Group of Laborers is in the country without benefit of legal paperwork.

They are being "forced" to work in dangerous condition with less-than-optimal safety equipment and/or training.

I have a very simple solution.

Don't come here illegally. Then, the companies will be forced to actually hire legal citizens, who are willing to work these jobs, and who already know how to be safe on the job.

In the story, there is mention of one worker who was making $13.00 an hour as a roofer. I was making that in the eighties, in Flagstaff, as a roofer.

Tell me again how illegal immigrants don't affect the overall wage structure of an area?

Non-Politically Correct Joke

You have been warned. By the way, if I become President, this type of joke will become the norm, not hidden away in the closet. There are different version of this one running around; I happen to like this one.

A big THANK YOU to my wife's cousin, who just sent this to me.

The Pope took a couple of days off to visit the mountains of Alaska for some sight-seeing. He was cruising along the campground in the Pope mobile when there was a frantic commotion just at the edge of the woods. A helpless Democrat, wearing sandals, shorts, a "Save the Whales" hat, and a "To Hell with Bush" T-shirt, was screaming while struggling frantically, thrashing around trying to free himself from the grasp of a 10 foot grizzly. As the Pope watched horrified, a group of Republican loggers came racing up. One quickly fired a .44 magnum into the bear's chest... The other two reached up and pulled the bleeding, semiconscious Democrat from the bear's grasp. Then using long clubs, the three loggers finished off the bear and two of them threw it onto the bed of their truck while the other tenderly placed the injured Democrat in the back seat.

As they prepared to leave, the Pope summoned them to come over. "I give you my blessing for your brave actions!" he told them "I heard there was a bitter hatred between Republican loggers and Democratic Environmental activists but now I've seen
with my own eyes that this is not true."

As the Pope drove off, one of the loggers asked his buddies "Who was that guy?"

"It was the Pope," another replied. "He's in direct contact with heaven and has access to all wisdom."

"Well," the logger said, "he may have access to all wisdom but he sure doesn't know
anything about bear hunting! By the way, is the bait holding up, or do we need to go back to Massachusetts and snatch another one?"

Going From Bad To Worse

This isn't bad enough (from an e-mail from grassfire.org):

Imprisoned Border Agent Ignacio Ramos was assaulted and beaten in prison Saturday night following the airing of America's Most Wanted, Ramos family members confirmed to Grassfire.org yesterday afternoon.

Agent Ramos told his wife, Monica, that he was kicked multiple times by up to five men with steel-toe boots, shouting profanities in Spanish and saying "Kill the Border Agent." The family reported to us that he had extensive injuries, was bleeding from the ear and may not have received medical attention for up to 48 hours.

The story was first posted on Grassfire's new FireSociety community. Go here for details, including my interview last night on L.A.'s flagship ABC radio station with Al Rantel.

Now, we have this (also from grassfire.org):

While Ron De Jong and I were presenting 304,000 citizen petitions to Rep. Rohrabacher on Capitol Hill, we were shocked when the Congressman informed us that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had admitted to members of Congress...

...that they had lied to Congress about the case against imprisoned agents Ramos and Compean.

Under questioning by Rep. Culberson, a DHS investigator admitted that his department did NOT have evidence to back up a number of outrageous claims including:

* Mexican/American agents Ramos and Compean "wanted to shoot a Mexican";
* confessed to shooting an unarmed suspect;
* were belligerent to investigators;
* lied and submitted false reports;
* and stated during the investigation that the illegal alien did not pose a threat.

In addition, the DHS admitted that it began its prosecution
BEFORE completing their investigation!

So, first we have a case that should not have been in court - should, in fact, have been handled internally due to the agents not following procedures (imagine if YOU could be taken to federal court for not following procedures in YOUR job...). Second, the agents are held in GENERAL POPULATION with the very same people they were hired to keep out of the US in the first place. Third, the Department of Homeland Security (motto: we don't want to offend anyone but our own) MAKES UP CHARGES that it then levels against agents of the Border Patrol.

Oh, yeah. We're in good hands.

Friday Is Wear Red Day

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Go here. Buy a shirt, wear it on Fridays, and declare your support for the troops.

Fix4RSO has a nifty little article on a "reporter" at the San Francisco Chronicle who has never served in the US Military or, it would appear, has heard of reasoned thinking. Check it out, I'm sure you'll enjoy the read. I was a little short in the comments, but I am just so amazed at the very low level of understanding and comprehension exhibited by the majority of the media that it boggles my mind. My advice to the media is: If in doubt, ask someone who has served. Or, at least leave such "hard hitting" and "in-depth" reporting to someone who knows how to use the internet to research topics.

Slow Posting

Sorry I haven't been keeping everyone up to date - so here's a bit of a catch-up post.

Saturday - TMBWitW, MEG, and I attended Glendale Chocolate Affaire, first to look around a bit, and second to do some preliminary name dropping. Two things became quickly clear - I needed to have a small business card to hand out to people, or they would never remember me, and second, the hopes I had for starting a Chocoholics Anonymous were dashed, for the simple reason that nobody wanted to quit.

Sunday - normal stuff here, went to church Sunday evening, then back home to wait out MEG falling asleep on her schedule...

Monday I got to talk to Jenn and Dave on My Point BlogRadio. Fun and hilarity ensued.

Since then, I've been job searching. And job searching. And job searching. No wonder I haven't been posting!

This afternoon I got started on the pulpit for the new church, since the foundation was poured this week. Figured I might as well have that ready to go when the new church building opens.

Thanks for allowing me to indulge in some minor catching up.

No Theocracy!(?)

I am confused. Someone, please explain.

The party (Democrat) most associated with the group (Liberal) who decries the establishment of a theocracy in this country turns to - an imam? - to open the DNC meeting. (tip of the hat to Vanishing American for the heads-up)

Very good move, guys - ask the role models of theocracies to lead your choice for government in prayer. No, that doesn't appear to conflict with your messages against nationally established religions at all. */sarcasm*

For the record - I believe in Freedom of Religion - as stated, not freedom FROM religion, as spouted by the more liberal members of our society. Establishing a theocracy (of any stripe) would defeat the Freedoms - not only of Religion, but Peaceable Assembly, Press, Speech, and Movement that we all enjoy now.

Don't believe me? Ask any citizen of an islam-controlled nation how freely they may express their dissatisfaction with the leadership of their country.

Lord, show us all the error of our ways that we may better ourselves. Forgive us for being obstinate, and soften our hearts while opening our ears. Above all, Lord, Your will, not ours.

Cary, Are You Qualified To Be President?

According to this, I am.

I am at least 35 years old. (at least!)

I was born in the United States.

I have been a resident of the United States for at least fourteen years prior to the elections on November 4, 2008.

And, I've been getting increasingly upset about how the career politicians have been running this country into the ground.

Oh, wait - that last part isn't in Article 2, is it? I think it should be an amendment, along with term limits for any representative. Like, two terms maximum. Lifetime, any party, any affiliation, any office. Pick the office you want to run for, and if elected, serve your time. Then get out and go back to being a citizen. Let another citizen-statesman step up to the plate. I personally feel this should be the case for any elected office, from President to State Mine Inspector.

Thursday Update

Well, as it turns out I'm not a commissioned salesman. Don't get me wrong, I have the utmost respect for anyone who can support a family on a commission (with very high regards for my Dad, who supported seven kids and Mom, while Mom was able to stay home and raise us).

Sales is not my bag.

Design and layout is my bag. So, even as I continue to run for President, I am right now concentrating on landing full-time employment.

In a conversation on another blog (I can't remember which one; I visit a number of them and tend to drop in on conversations all over the place) it would seem I left a wrong impression on someone. This person thinks that if I don't agree with something she said then I don't think she has the right to say it. Quite the contrary, I will defend to the death her right to say anything she wants. In an attempt to get into a discussion about what she said, I asked for more detail, and she accused me of trying to silence her.

*sigh*

I didn't want to label her a "typical liberal", so I dropped the train of thought, and figured she would go on to annoy someone else. I haven't heard from her here, so I'm thinking she has lost interest also; I just wanted to take a moment to clarify my stand on freedom of speech.

My beautiful daughter turned one month old on the 30th, and right now she is making me type with one hand because she isn't sleepy.

I got a haircut today. No, wait, yesterday. Actually, I got them all cut; it's cheaper that way.

I need to find a way to download all my posts, as a back-up, in the event that I should need to move off of BlogSpot. If anyone knows of a way, please drop me a line...
